SJP Expands Law Firm Pro Bono Partnerships 01.10.25
Throughout the past months, SJP has been designing and implementing a Pro Bono program in order to increase our capacity to provide free special education legal services to emerging adults with disabilities in DC Superior Court.
On December 10, SJP Senior Staff Attorney, Rachel Goodman, and Director of Operations, Rachel Russo, conducted a 90-minute technical training at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, focused on equipping Gibson Dunn associates with the training necessary to co-counsel individual client cases with SJP attorneys.
In addition to Gibson Dunn, SJP has conducted trainings with attorneys from Hogan Lovells, WilmerHale, and Hollingsworth LLP. There are now approximately 27 law firm associates who are trained and ready to co-counsel cases with SJP attorneys, which will ultimately allow us to represent many more young adults with special education needs.
We are thrilled to report that we recently began to co-counsel our first case with Pro Bono attorneys from Hogan Lovells. So far, the Pro Bono team has gone above and beyond to protect and advance our client's special education rights.
We look forward to continuing to develop these partnerships in 2025!
