SJP Hosts Thrive Under 25 Coalition “Brain & Brunch” Event

On Thursday, May 12, the Thrive Under 25 Coalition convened at its first Brain and Brunch to kick off strategic planning for the Coalition's upcoming priorities. Thrive Under 25 is a coalition of young people involved in the justice system, advocates, attorneys, researchers, and policymakers dedicated to addressing issues facing young people under age 25 in DC's adult criminal justice system. At this month’s Brain & Brunch, there were over 20 Coalition members in attendance. The members spent the morning enjoying brunch catered by Chef Reese of Reese's Catering, a performance by Thrive Vice Chair Gene Downing, and lively breakout and full group brainstorms on priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. We will come together in June to share our reflections with the larger Coalition. Next steps will be planning and hosting a facilitated strategic planning session.
